Black Lives Matter, the NAACP, Justice for Michiana, and the Michiana Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression will hold a press conference and demonstration outside of Mayor James Mueller’s home.
Two Black men have been murdered in the last three years. Enough is enough.
We will no longer allow Mayor Mueller to ignore the pain and suffering of our beloved Black community. The racist police murders of Black people by South Bend police must—and will—end.
We demand that Mayor Mueller immediately release all body camera footage and 911 dispatch recordings. We also call for the funding of a mobile mental health crisis unit that is clinician-led, culturally competent, and well-trained in de-escalation.
